Good Reasons Not To Use SQL Server To Send Emails

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Over the years, I have seen my fair share of complex SQL Server applications, where loads of business logic exist in stored procedures and cursors churn through thousands of records handling complex business rules and sending out emails.

But there are some really good reasons not to send emails from SQL Server. In his blog, Brent Ozar describes some of these reasons.
